On this day 20 years ago...246 people went to sleep in preparation for their morning flights. 2,606 people went to sleep in preparation for work in the morning. 343 firefighters went to sleep in preparation for their morning shift. 60 police officers went to sleep in preparation for their morning patrol. 8 paramedics went to sleep in preparation for their morning shift. Not a single one of them saw past 10:00am on September 11, 2001.

I can remember very vividly to this day being in my classroom at school when our principal came over the intercom and requested everyone to turn on the television. I can still remember the gut-wrenching feeling that I felt when I saw what had happened. I'm sure many of you can remember a similar feeling or where you were and what you were doing. Friends, remember one single moment in life may change the course of your life forever.
As you live and enjoy the breaths you take in today, and before you go to sleep tonight in preparation for tomorrow, kiss the ones you love, snuggle a little bit tighter, and never take even a second of your life for granted. It really is precious.

We Salute the Small Business on Labor Day.
Owning Decatur Back and Neck Center has given me an appreciation of what it means to be a small business owner.

Small businesses provide character and individuality to a community. Small businesses are the backbone of their local communities. If you spend $100 at a local business, roughly $68 stays within your local economy. Small business owners live and work in their communities, taking pride in making their towns a little nicer.

The COVID crisis has affected businesses, families, communities, and individuals. We dream, we struggle, we stress, and we labor trying to work towards a better future. We all need to pull together and support the small business. We salute the small business on this Labor Day!
